What is prototype and why should you use them?

A prototype is an early sample, model or release of a product built to test a concept or process or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.

How are prototypes different from production?

Typically lower fidelity

Typically just a portion of the system

If coded, it's allowed to be bad, unreliable code

Cheap to build

Why do prototype

To explore

To communicate and test

to refine

to engage the team
