Should pages be accessible in 3 clicks?

IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE...

Usability tests have long challenged the "three-click rule" and the answer is:

People don't leave sites iust 'cause they don't find info in 3 clicks

What really counts is

• Ease of navigation

• Task path that is progressive and intuitive

• Well labeled copy

• Optimized search to return relevant results

• Optimized performance for various devices

If you don't make the user think about the clicks, they won't mind having a few more.
