Quotes
Using quotation marks in your search terms lets you search exactly for that word. It means, all your results will have your search terms in them.
Without quotes, Google will search for content that contains those three words in any order.
Hyphen
Sometimes you are searching for a word with an ambiguous meaning. Example is Ant. When you search for Ant, you may get results about Ant & Dec (tv host) or the insect or a software tool.
If you want to exclude a term from your search include a hyphen before that word. This tells Google to search for Ant but to remove any results that have the word insect in it.
Colon
There may be an instance where you need to Google search for content on a certain website. The syntax is very simple and we'll show you below
This will search for all content about Kobe Bryant but only on CNN.com
Math
Google search can actually do math for you. This is handy if you need to do some quick math but don't want to do it in your head.
