BE CAREFUL TRYING SOMETHING NEW IN YOUR DESIGN

AS YOU KNOW USERS SPEND MOST OF THEIR TIME ON OTHER DESIGN. NOT YOURS!

THEY PREFER YOUR DESIGN TO WORK THE SAME AS ALL THE OTHER DESIGNS THEY ALREADY KNOW

WHEN YOU TRY SOMETHING NEW YOU MAKE IT HARD FOR USERS TO EXPECT HOW THE DESIGN WORKS

SO THEY ABANDON BECAUSE THEY HAVE A MISMATCH BETWEEN THEIR IDEA OF HOW THE DESIGN WILL WORK AND THE WAY IT ACTUALLY WORKS

IF YOU WANT TO TRY SOMETHING NEW TEACH USERS HOW TO USE IT

PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS, LABELS, TUTORIALS AND VISUAL CUES TO HELP EXPAND THEIR MENTAL MODELS

AND DON'T FORCE THEM TO FIGURE THINGS OUT. YOU DON'T OWN THEM

AND REMEMBER YOUR DESIGN FAILS WHEN USERS CHOOSE NOT TO USE IT
